Their births were overseen by Bova, a cow-woman midwife, who had been created by the High Evolutionary as part of their experiments to create intelligent anamorphic creatures called The New Men.īova had been created specifically in order to nurture and raise children, so when Magda fled to the mountains and abandoned her newborn twins, it was Bova who took care of them and raised them for a while.īova tried very hard to find adoptive parents for Pietro and Wanda, and finally she found a willing couple in the Maximoffs who ended up taking in the twins and giving them their surname.Īlthough Django and Marya Maximoff were certainly the two people the twins ended up identifying as their parents during their formative years, there’s no denying that Bova played a big part in their initial upbringing.
